Mira Motorcycles - New Zealand

Mira Motorcycles was formed to design, manufacture and market sensibly engineered motorcycles for the discerning racer.

We are currently developing 3 models:

MT80

AVAILABLE IN MOTOCROSS OR MOTARD (PICTURED RIGHT)

We have engineered the MT80 to be everything a learner rider could ask for. It has plenty of power carefully designed to cover a very broad range — and its 4 speed gearbox is easy to manage. Our engineers selected a 2-stroke engine type for its low weight and ease of service. For example a youngster could, under competent adult supervision, replace the piston and ring.

STATUS: Development completed — ship date Q2-Q3 2009.

AD800 Geo

AN INTELLIGENTLY ENGINEERED ATV

STATUS: Under development. Estimated release date Q3 2010.

MT145

A full-race motocross bike currently under development. It uses our new 145cc 2-stroke engine and 6 speed gearbox. We are developing this engine using some of our parent company’s patented GP technology, so this will be a very exciting motorcycle! The engine uses Direct Injection and will meet Euro III emissions regulations.

STATUS: Under development. Estimated release date Q4 2010.

MQ250

A high performance 250cc 6 speed 4-stroke engine currently under development. Producing 35kW in it's highest performance configuration, it will be available as an OEM engine for sport motorcycle and ATV use. The engine will meet Euro III emissions regulations.

STATUS: Under development. Estimated release date Q4 2010.

OEM engines: All our engines are also available for purchase separately, either for OEM supply or consumer use.

The MT80 is an 80cc 2-stroke 4 speed water cooled configuration, designed and engineered as an intelligent entry level motocross bike.

From design mandate to manufacture, the MT80 has benefited from the extensive GP experience of our engineering team. With a guaranteed 15 rear wheel horsepower, the MT80 is competition ready and delivers classleading mid-range torque that carries on through the rev range. This mid-range power and excellent overrev characteristics allow the use of a 4 speed gearbox which enhances the experience for entry level riders. The hydraulic clutch provides light operation and smooth engagement. Our engineers selected the 2-stroke engine type for its low weight & inherent ease of serviceability.
